What is the Green Homes Grant?
Under the Green Homes Grant Scheme, homeowners and landlords in England are from the 1st October 2020 able to apply for vouchers to cover the cost of certain home improvements. This is a cash gift, it is not a loan. The voucher will pay for home improvements that will make your home more energy efficient and more comfortable to live in. The application is easy and we can do it for you as part of the service.
There are two voucher types:-
- Vouchers for a household where one member is receiving government benefits. This voucher is for a maximum of £10,000 and covers the full cost of the improvements.
- Vouchers for a household where no member is receiving benefits. This voucher is for a maximum of £5,000 and can be redeemed against two thirds (66%) of the total cost of the improvements.
If you are a tenant you can still apply for a voucher but will need your landlords consent.

Benefits effecting the Green Homes Grant Voucher Scheme
Eligibility for 100% Voucher
You qualify for the Green Homes Grants low-income scheme (£10,000) if you a home owner and receive at least one of the following benefits:

On the 7th July 2020 Rishi Sunak, Chancellor of the Exchequer, unveiled the Governments Green Home Grant Scheme, a £3,000,000,000.00 fund for home owners and landlords to pay for Energy Saving Improvements to properties in England such as loft insulation installs, ground source heat pumps, double glazing and draught exclusion. Everyone is eligible as long as:
· Your home is in England,
· You are (or have the permission of) the property owner,
· You have not received a grant already.
If a member of your household is on benefits you can apply for a voucher for 100% of the cost of the improvements, if not you get a voucher for two-thirds (66%) of the cost of the works - it's a no-brainer.
